The aLIGO detections of BH has shown a new population of heavier stellar mass black holes than previously observed. This talk reviews the distribution of known stellar mass black holes and possible sources for them as observed by aLIGO. The two most interesting and competing sources are Population III (first generation) stars and Primordial Black Holes (PBHs) that could be sufficient to provide all the dark matter in the Universe.

The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
