The speaker and her collaborators are currently exploring a type of models with extra complex scalars that are simultaneously charged under both the Standard Model (SM) and a hidden strongly coupled SU(N)_H gauge sector. In this talk, she will discuss the scenarios where the new scalars are identified as the messengers that mediate the spontaneously broken super symmetries (SUSY) from the hidden sector to the visible sector. The new scalars are embedded into 5-plets and 10-plets of an SU(5)_V gauge group that potentially unifies the SM gauge groups. They form a tower of bound states via the hidden strong dynamics around the TeV scale. The Higgs bosons remain as elementary particles. Quadratically divergent contributions to the Higgs mass from the SM fermions are canceled by the new particles, and thus the fine-tuning problem is alleviated. A supersymmetrized version of such models are also discussed. Due to the hidden strong force, the new low energy scalars hadronize before decaying and thus evade the common direct searches of the squarks. Some phenomenological features of this type of models are analyzed, including the possible dark matter candidate and the exotic meson states formed by the new scalars.

The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
