Abstract:

In this lecture, the speaker will review the current theoretical understanding of the Higgs Boson properties based on the experimental measurements of its production, mass, spin, and decay rates. The constraint posed on new physics will be addresed, which includes the minimal supersymmetric model (MSSM), and the lepto-quark interaction (LQ), etc. The rather narrow width about 4 MeV in SM would be sensitive to new physics that alters the Higgs couplings. The speaker will also look at the consequence of the rare Higgs boson decay, such as the tau-mu mode in the lepton flavor changing process with a branching fraction at about a half percent level, measurable at LHC.

The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
