Abstract:

Some theories of gravity provide the possibility of developing the concept of graviton Higgs mechanism by taking advantage of the vacuum degeneracy of the solutions. By including the gravitational effects perturbatively, the degeneracy is translated to the scales of the theory. In such a case, then different observers define different scales depending on how they define their time direction (frame of reference) locally. These set of observers are connected through the broken generators of the theory. The present formalism, allows the possibility of formulating dark energy as a second order phase transition effect.

The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
