Higgs Inflation from Standard Model Criticality

Abstract:
The measured values of the Higgs and top masses and of the strong gauge coupling constant point to the near-criticality of the standard model, where two vacua at the electroweak and Planck scales are quasi-degenerate.
The speaker argues that the criticality is related to the inflation
induced by the Higgs potential. He proposes several Higgs inflation scenarios from standard model criticality.
The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
