Abstract:

The speaker reports a successful bounce model derived from string theory (CSTB universe) which solves the horizon, flatness and the big bang singularity problems. The spectrum of primordial density perturbations it produces matches that of CMB and it is stable in the course of cosmic evolution. It does not contain unphysical states, the "ghosts" or "phantom" and does not violate the Null Energy condition. The signature predictions of this bounce model can be crossed checked by Dark Matter detection experiments. The CSTB universe model opens up new venues to rethink the mechanisms of matter production as well as baryon asymmetry generation which can be fundamentally different from the Standard Inflationary Cosmology. Efforts to build more sophisticated alternatives to the inflationary paradigm utilizing more symmetries and dualities from the String Theory, or beyond, can also be foreseen.

The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
