Abstract:
An explicit example for a de Sitter vacuum in type IIB string theory will be presented. After deriving a sufficient condition for de Sitter vacua
in the Kahler uplifting scenario, it is shown that a globally consistent de Sitter model can be realized on a certain Calabi-Yau, stabilizing all geometric moduli and fulfilling all known consistency constraints. The complex structure moduli
stabilization by fluxes is studied explicitly for a small number of cycles.
Extrapolating to a larger number of flux carrying cycles, statistical
studies in the literature are verified, showing that in principle the string
landscape can account for a universe with an extremely small cosmological
constant.
The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis.
